Pinky was the oldest here at age 6. She is a Maltese. They are all sterilised otherwise we would not accept them for boarding.

These 3 toy breeds of Pomeranian and 2 Chihuahua had a fun time at Changi beach yesterday. It was a 30 minutes ride to the beach and they enjoyed the car ride as well. Being a weekday, the beach was almost deserted. At first we brought them to Pungol beach but it was not as good and clean as Changi. We will post a video of the outing in a short while.

The stress of temperature change or damp conditions is believed by some to contribute to CC. A different environment in the kennel, strange people and other animals, reduced rest (from barking), and more crowded conditions can reduce a healthy dog's immune response. Add parainfluenza (or other viruses) with Bordetella (or other respiratory bacteria) and your dog has a hacking cough. Just as humans are prone to upper respiratory infections (common colds) when in certain conditions, it boils down to basic immunity. Have your ever been on a plane or in a room with a lot of people when someone sneezes? You may go home perfectly healthy, but your friend or relative will get a cold. It's no one's fault--it just happens.

TWO TYPES OF VACCINES. (And safe for puppies as well as pregnant bitches!)

There is the painlessly applied nasal vaccine which builds protection at the site of potential infection, starting within 48 hours. The "nose drop" vaccine is the one that we recommend for your dog. (Even though it is "painless" some dogs are resentful and will struggle.)

And, there is the injection by needle that works through the dog's lymph immune system. the needle injection vaccine requires two injections 3 to 4 weeks apart in order to build long-term protection against CC. Since some people don't go back for the booster 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccine, we do NOT recommend the injectable vaccine. Check with your veterinarian for his/her recommendations.

Billy loves DogSitter Singapore's beef.

Billy usually find eating more of a chore than enjoyment. At home, he is usually fed with beef that cost an average of $5 to $6 per 100 grams and yet he would not appreciate that much as when he is here. The beef we bought for Billy cost only about $1 per 100 grams and you can see from the video he is really craving for it. Billy loves our beef because we painstakingly pressure cooked until it is tender and juicy and he loves his beef this way.

How to apply flea & tick prevention drug

Our dog Hua Hua has been on this prevention ever since we got him. Because of this product, he was able to come home flea-less and tick-less after the one-month quarantine in Jurong. This product has definitely taken the relationship we have with our dog to a higher level as he can jump up and sleep with us on our bed anytime he wants!

Once a month, apply the liquid drug on the back of your dog, somewhere in between the shoulders and the back so that the dog is not able to lick it. Do not pat that part of your dog after the drug is applied.

Let see whether Dog Sitter Singapore charges are exorbitant?

There are dog owners who told me that our charges of $60 a day per dog for boarding at Dog Sitter Singapore (Luke's place)are too high.
Well, let's see whether this is true. Below is my explanation that our charges are not expensive and it's value for money. Many of our regular clients (dog owners) cannot be wrong...click here to view.

Let us compare with the pet hotel charges.
Pet hotel charges anything from $23 to $35 for boarding per dog.
Walking the dog ranges from $5 to $8 for 30 mins.
Bathing your dog may cost another $30.
Then you will to pay compulsary charges like de-fleaing and de-ticking which is about $45 and one even charges $70. There may be other hidden charges.

Let's work out and see how much would you pay a pet hotel per day for your pet dog.
Let's say boarding = $25; Walk 3x a day = $18 ($6 per walk) Total per day = $43 ( and if you add $45 for de-fleaing/de-ticking and$30 for bath and divide by,let's say 4 days of boarding,it may cost $19 more a day)

Therefore if you add the $43 a day for boarding and $19 for misc.,you would pay $60 a day.
Here at my place,your pet is Not caged up and sleeps in air-conditioned room with me if need be.
We would walk your pet up to 5 times a day if you like and clean their legs and backsides after they poo poo or pee.
We would bathe him/her 2 times a week and dry their fur/coat with a dryer.

Here your pet gets 24 hrs care a day as well as spiced with love and attention.
In conclusion,S$60 a day is indeed cheap and cheaper than a kennel.

Rules to be observed when boarding your dog at Dogsitter Singapore

All dogs must be licensed according to AVA regulation.The fine is now S$5,000 if a dog owner does not comply. Owners need to show documents or tags when boarding their pets.
Owners should apply Frontline to their dogs at least 24 hours before boarding here (for the prevention of fleas and ticks).
Unneutered male dogs above 12 months and below 7 years may not be allowed to board.

Luke telling the three of us,the story of his first pet,a mongrel by the name of Brownie. That was when Luke a small boy,50 years ago.
Brownie was not as lucky as we guys,according to Luke. He was fed with leftover food which Luke's family would have considered as unfit for human consumption.
Brownie wasn't actually a pet in the real sense of the word.He was a guard dog because in those old days,there were petty thieves who would broke into the house when Luke and family were asleep. It was Brownie's job to bark or even attack the would be thieves......
We thoroughly enjoyed the story and thanked Luke for opening our eyes and ears to things that we have never seen or heard before. We are also so grateful to our "Moms" and "Dads" for being so kind to us by showering us with all the yummy food,snacks and care which Brownie never had.

BP is a yorkie who stayed with us last December with his sister Shell. They are now both 8 years old and unfortunately,BP is totally blind,according to Betty his "Mom".
When BP was here,he was partially blind. He is a very loveable pet,like his sister Shell.

Cino, The Shetland Sheep dog.

Cino came back for the second time to stay with us. His owner,Elvin prefers to put Cino here than a dog or pet hotel. Cino had a bad experience staying in a pet hotel. He was bleeding badly around his paws and lost a considerable amount of his fur when he came back from a dog/pet hotel.
Here with Uncle Luke and Yumi,the Shetland Sheep dog felt at home and slept in our airconditoned room with us.
We do not usually leave our customers' pet dogs all by themselves. We are always with them 24 hours a day. We walk the dogs and clean their butts,pick up their poo poo and also wipe them clean after each walking session.
Elvin is very particular with his dog's cleanliness.Cino wears a napkin around his neck whenever he has his meals.Cino also wears dogie shoes when he is out walking.
Cino stayed with us for 7 days and going home tonight when Elvin and wife will be back from their vacation.

Skotch and Melvin

Skotch,the 4 year old neutered long coat Chihuahua and Melvin the 10 year old white Maltese spent from 2 to 3 weeks at our home. Their owners chose us over pet hotels for personalised 24 hour care.
Skotch belongs to Ms Janet Tan and Melvin's owner is Rhonda from Australia.
It was a pleasure to care for these two pets while their owners were away from Singapore.
Skotch slept with us on our bed and Melvin preferred our master bed roomed bath area with the lights switched on the whole night. Melvin was quite odd because he would slammed the bathroom door closed before he slept if we did not closed it. I supposed he needed some privacy.
Their daily routines were walks,meals,napping,playing ( Melvin preferred to stare at the ceiling/walls rather than playing with his mate).

Momo-chan,the cute toy poodle.

Momo,the cute toy poodle, stayed at our place for a week in March 2007 when mom and dad left for Japan. Ours is a kind of personalised pet hotel and Momo's owners like it.
Momo is a one year old female toy poodle. Momo in Japanese means Peach.
She is a beautiful and cute pet whose temperment is as good as her looks.
Momo was very attached to Yumi who helped to take care of her. Momo would always want us to be around her all the time.
Momo has excellent toilet manners.She will do her 'business' on the sheet or newspapers. Twice during her stay with us, she gently woke Yumi up in the middle of the night to signal that she wanted to poo outside of our room and onto the sheet of paper which was placed in the toilet.( our bedroom door was closed because of the airconditioning).
We would have loved to let Momo sleep on the bed with us but unfortunately,she was having her 'period'
Momo was one of the most lovable and cutest pet dogs,if not the best, we've ever looked after.
We would like to thank Mr and Mrs Toyoshima for giving us the chance to look after their precious Momo-chan.

トイプードルのモモちゃんはとっても可愛くて賢い女の子です。淋しがりやさんですがとてもフレンドリーで、お散歩中には他のワンチャンと見かけると尻尾をふりふりして、駆け寄って行くほどです。お耳のピンクのリボンがとても可愛く、みんなから「キュート！！」と連呼されていました。モモちゃんは淋しがりやさんですので、我が家に馴れるのに時間がかかるかしら？と思っていましたが、驚くことに１時間もしないうちに私たちはとっても仲良しになる事ができました。毎日一緒のお部屋で寝ていたのですが、トイレに行きたいときには、私のところへ寄ってきてちゃんと知らせてくれるのです！モモちゃんは８日間のホームステイ中、１度もトイレのそそうをしませんでした。ちゃんと、ママが用意してくれたトイレシートで用を足します。ボール遊びやぬいぐるみ遊びが大好きで、お昼寝後によく一緒に遊びました。気性も穏やかで、愛らしく私たち夫婦はもうモモちゃんにメロメロになってしまいました。こんなに良い子のモモちゃんをお世話させていただき、オーナーの豊島様ご夫妻に感謝しております。

Charlie and Austin's "mom",after looking around the pet dog hotels in Singapore,decided they should stay at our place for 9 days when the whole family went for a holiday in Australia this February.
These two were long-coat Chihuahua,a little bigger than the ordinary ones.They weighed about 5 kgs each.
Charlie and Austin were neutered and were 2 years and 10 months old respectively.
As personalised dogsitters, we gave them the best care and love. We were sad to see them leave at the end of their stay.

Goal Keeper Hanakowell looked after by Luke

Hanako,the pretty female JRT , stayed at our place,a personalised pet hotel when her whole family left for Japan on a short vacation in February 2007. Hanako had stayed in pet/dog hotels in Singapore in the past but her owners preferred personalised dogsitters like us.
You won't believe this, but Hanako adjusted very comfortably to us,the very hour she came to our place for the first time. She was not nervous,like most pet dogs would.
Hanako loved to catch her little red rubber ball with her mouth if you tossed it into the air. She was pretty good at it.
She would patiently placed the ball in front of her and waited for us to toss or kicked the ball. If we were a little far from where she was,she would pushed the ball with her tongue toward us.
Hanako slept in our bed with us.
We missed very much when she left for her Holland Village home.

Belle,the clever and angry toy poodle

Belle gets angry when we tried to snatch her yummy snack from her.She was trying to scare us off but she doesn't bite,never!

In the above video,Belle was rewarded with a little treat after retrieving her toy.

However,Belle was trained not take her treat until she was instructed to.
Belle's "mom and dad" left her in our care for a week when they travelled to Myanmar. Belle had never stayed in a pet hotel before. Our home is a "5 Star" pet hotel for her.
This toy poodle,Belle will be 3 years old in June this year.She is our neighbour's pet and visit us almost every evening.She has a DQ (Dog's IQ) of 150,I think because she is so intelligent and witty.
We love her just the same as the other pets we looked after.

Cino The Majestic looking Shetland.

This majestic looking Shetland is called Cino.

Cino was named after "Cappucino" for his thick and distinct collar of white above his brownish, mahoganeyhue, much like the drink itself.

Here are some info about him;born: 15th Feb 2004 (Aquarius)length: 92 cm from snout to tail height: 51 cm from head to feet. add 4 cm with ears raised.weight: 10 ~ 11 kg. depends on how well he's eating.we believe the weight is 50% fur :likes: any female creature. durians and rock melons.spicy food (discovered by accident). anything humanly edible but bad for dogs.

Cino stayed at our place for 2 days,from 11 to 12 January 2007 when his 'mom' and 'dad' were going through their wedding ceremony.

Cino was such a darling from the very start. He was a little nervous at first but it was perfectly normal for a dog when staying with strangers for the first time.

However,Cino adapted very fast with us and the new environment. He slept throughout the night and was up by 6.45am the next morning.

He had a bowlful of food for 'brunch' and lots of fresh water.

By, noon we brought him out for a walk and he really enjoyed it. It was a wet day and had been raining the whole night before. The temperature was around 25C and it was comfortable for Cino.

He was a very intelligent boy and he quickly learned where to do his 'business' when he was indoor.

Cino loved playing and running around the house with us.

By nightfall,Loria and Elvin(Cino's mom and dad) came and fetched him home.

Again, my wife and I felt the absence of another dear friend.We can just hope that Cino will one day come back and stay with us again.

Cino was named after "Cappucino" for his thick anddistinct collar of white above his brownish, mahoganeyhue, much like the drink itself.

we would love to see pics of cino and a write up on him on ur blog. we are really proud of him and would like to have u share ur experience dogsitting him as well.

The Lovely Princess Thea.

This is Thea with her back lying on the parquet flooring of our room.

Princess Thea was back with us from 26 Dec. to 2nd Jan. 2007,when 'mom,' 'dad' and 'grandma' went to Thailand for a short break.
As usual,we miss her when 'dad' fetched her home on the 2nd Jan.
We hope to see Thea again in 2 months time,if things go as planned.

Billy Boy

Billy is a 7 month old Yorkshire Terrier owned by Mr and Mrs Jean Marie. Billy loves staying with us at our home. He is a small fella,weighing 1.8kg and has a loud powerful bark.

Billy boy as we affectionately calls him, does not like eating his prescribed food.He loves dog snacks and chicken meat. Billy sleeps through the night without peeing at all. He loves sleeping on our bed with us.He also loves going for walks.

We always look forward to having Billy in our home and looks like he will be back in the early part of 2007 when 'dad' and 'mom' would leaving for a vacation in Europe.

Belle The Lovely Toy Poodle

Belle,the little toy poodle belongs to our neighbours. During the Chinese New Year period of 2005, her owners let her stay with us instead of a pet hotel. We became her first dog sitter. Belle was 8 months old then and with her nervous personality,she couldn't have survived living in a pet hotel cage.
She is, to this very day visit us.Belle is a darling to us here and we love her to bits. She is about the most intelligent puppy we have looked after.
